Latest News - Interview
with Hadya
"Alucha",
the first Album of Hadya Rastagar.
Interviewed By: Haroon
Yusifi
Last time I saw Hadya Rastagar was two months ago in
Hamburg, Germany. He was six and two month years old and
Wajiha and Farid Rastagar were practicing one of their
songs. Hadya got hold of "Zer Baghali" and started to
play it.
"Zer Baghali" seemed bigger under his tiny fingers; but
he was playing so good that I was amazed.
I said: Hadya jaan, you really do play well.
Said: uncle Haroon, I also play "Jaaz Band". I used to
play "Jaz band" in school and its better.
I asked, do you sing?
He didn't say anything. But his mother Wajiha told me
slowly: "Sometimes sings, when I and Farid are not at
home.
Hadya's Album
One week ago I rang Farid Rastagar and asked about
Wajiha and her state; about his children Razma, Tahmina,
and Milaad, and of course about Hadya and his playing of
"Zer Baghali".
He said: The words have passed about his "Zer Baghali"
playing and soon you'll receive album of his songs. I
though Farid was joking with me.
Farid continued: do you want me to send one or two of
his songs via e-mail?
I said: send
I got the songs through the computer. They were so good
that I couldn't believe it
Hadya the singer
One or two days ago, I called Hadya to tell me about his
work, life and art.
Said: "I always watch the TV music programmes of Germany
and the world. I have almost memorized all the popular
English and German songs of. I was born in Germany and
even though I can speak Farsi but I can't read and
write."
"I wrote the songs of the album with the Latin and
everyday I recorded one or two songs."
"Album has thirteen songs, of which I have sung eleven
of them and one of the songs are sung by my sister,
Razma, and I worked with her and I have done one song
with my father, mother and sister.
The poems of the songs are by Sami Hamid."
"I think the songs are interesting to children as well,
and perhaps it may contain learning materials; in them
the name of historical places of some regions of the
country, for example, Pule Bagh Omomi, Samangaan, Ruze
Mubaarak and etc are mentioned."
I asked him to tell me about other things that he loves
or do.
He continued: "apart from music, I also love sport and
dancing. And, of course, sometimes in some ceremonies,
with my mother and my father, I also play "Zer Baghali."
I haven't gone to school of music; but it's planned that
for learning of Piano and singing, I spend one period or
semester there."
"The other thing I love is sweet, although my appetite
is not so good"
